Historical NoteReturn to Top
The South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society was founded in 1983 and is located in Cottonwood Heights, in Salt Lake County, Utah. It was the second Unitarian Universalist society in Utah, following the First Unitarian Society of Salt Lake City, which was organized in 1891. The Unitarian denomination is closely tied to liberalism, and Unitarians have been active in non-sectarian and humanitarian political movements, such as abolition, suffrage, and public education.
