Historical Note
Carl Richardson is noted as one of the earliest birders in Jackson county. Mr. Richardson donated his collection of specimens to the science department at Southern Oregon State College (SOSC).

Carl Richardson's notes the date and location where species were seen or banded. The documents include the band number. There are extensive entries concerning the weather and wildlife during varies trips in Jackson and Klamath counties.
