Historical Note

Gertrude Gould received her M.A. from the University of Wyoming in 1932. Her thesis was entitled “The value of remedial exercises in reading for college freshman.” She was an associate professor of nursing around 1952 and an assistant professor of nursing approximately between 1954 and 1956. Gertrude was appointed to the state board of nurse examiners in July 1953 and to the board of directors of the Wyoming division of the American Cancer Society in 1954.

The collection contains various materials relating to a course taught by Gertrude Gould including, but not limited to, correspondence, course materials, course outline, curriculum study, lecture schedule, fees and budget, manual of accrediting education programs in nursing, resource materials, and the University of Colorado procedure manual.
