The collection primarily consists of a handwritten minute book for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) Burnt River Lodge No. 86, based in Huntington, Oregon. The book was used to record the minutes of lodge meetings held from July 20, 1899, to November 4, 1910.
The collection also includes a loose certificate that was inside the minute book at the time of the book's donation to the Oregon Historical Society Research Library. This certificate was issued by I.O.O.F. Silver Lodge No. 21 of Silverton, Oregon, for B. L. Stearns, and is dated August 5, 1899. Stearns' relationship to Burnt River Lodge No. 86, if any, is unknown.
