Historical Note

The Oregon Hops and Brewing Archives, established in 2013 at the OSU Libraries and Press' Special Collections and Archives Research Center, is the first in the U.S. dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing materials that explore the commercial, agricultural, social, and cultural aspects of Northwest brewing.

Originally focused on Oregon's hop production, craft brewing movement, and Oregon State University research, the collecting scope expanded in 2016 to incorporate of all facets of the regional craft brewing industries (mead, cider, beer), as well as barley breeding and farming, homebrew organizations and practitioners, and regional pre-Prohibition era history.
