Biographical Note

Jerome Gold is a Seattle area author and proprietor of the Black Heron Press. He is the author of ten books, including "Paranoia and Heartbreak: Fifteen Years in a Juvenile Facility" and "Sergeant Dickinson", which was based on his experiences in the US Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War.

The Jerome Gold Publishing Lives collection consists of interview material Gold collected in 1991-1992 for his book about the operators of regional small presses: "Publishing Lives: Interviews with Independent Book Publishers in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia". Seattle: Black Heron Press, 1995. Included are written transcripts, summaries and notes as well as cassette recordings of the interviews. The cassette recordings sometimes contain information not included in the transcripts.
