Historical Note
The Travelers Insurance Company was founded in 1863 as an underwriter of property, accident, life and health insurance.
Content Description
Collection contains records relating to the Company's Life, Accident, Real Estate Departments, including the Accident Department's mortgages (1867-1886); the Life Department's mortgages (1875-1882) and loans on collateral; and the Real Estate Department's loans on collateral. There is also a register of loans (1913-1918); a journal for the Nebraska Securities Corporation (1927-1936); and miscellaneous records relating to the Rio Grande and Canal Company.
