Biographical Note
George H. Bendshadler (1887-1956) studied at Oregon Agricultural College from 1905-1909, graduating with a degree in electrical engineering. After graduating, he worked for the Molalla Electric Company.
Bendshadler was born to Julius Bendshadler (1852-1937), a Swiss immigrant, and Mary Breshears (1865-1936) in Elgin, Oregon. He married Alice Stoddord (1888-1973) in 1914, and they had two daughters: JoAnne and Patricia.
Bendshadler served in the Army 37th Engineers during World War I. He returned from France in March 1919. Following the war, he attended the University of Oregon and graduated in medicine in 1923. Bendshadler practiced medicine for thirty years in Portland before retiring in 1954.
He died August 22, 1956, in Portland, Oregon.
