Historical Note
Penelope A. "Penny" Gross worked for Frank Church on his senate staff in Washington, D.C. After leaving Church's office, she was elected supervisor of Fairfax County, Virginia, seven times, beginning in 1995.
Content Description
This collection contains material Penny Gross gathered during her time working for Frank Church and after his death, including senate office memoranda, materials related to Frank Church memorials, and newspaper clippings documenting Church's run for president in 1976 and obituaries written at the time of his death. There is also material from Bethine Church and her work for the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
