Darlington (1892-1980) was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 1916. As a Naval chaplain in World War I, he served at the U.S. Naval Air Station at Killingholme, England, and remained active in veterans organizations throughout his life, receiving numerous citations for his civilian service. Darlington was associated with the American Bible Society for nearly fifty years, serving as treasurer from 1920 to 1958, investment officer from 1958 to 1961, and as a consultant after his retirement.
