Collection includes a variety of artifacts representing the broad subject of photography from film to processed prints and slides, professional to consumer photography and novelty items related to photography. Peter Ople developed and sold inexpensive, medium format, pinhole cameras which were used to teach photography and used by hobbyists. The kit includes, a laser cut pinhole, an assembly and instruction manual and a roll of Agfa APX 400, Professional 120 film.

The large format view camera includes a storage case and accessories including film packs.
The No. 5 Universal camera shutter was manufactured by Ilex Optical Company. The lens was manufactured by Hugo Meyer.
Wooden large format cameras were the standard camera used in early photography. They were bulky, relatively heavy, not easily transported and time consuming to set up and photograph one image at a time. Large format cameras also required significant support equipment, such as a tripod, multiple film packs and sheet film, lenses, and a variety of other camera accessories.
The large format cameras required a skilled photographer to set up the camera, compose the scene, record an image, process the film and print and image using contact printing frames. The composition was viewed on a ground glass at the back of the camera, generally under a black drape that covered the photographer, to exclude background light.

The Dories camera is one of a class of inexpensive plastic toy "Diana" cameras that were made in Hong Kong under many names.
This style of plastic camera uses a plastic meniscus lens and is known for blurry images, and often, light leaks due to poor manufacturing processes.

The Norwood exposure meter was developed and patented by Donald Norwood and Karl Freund, around 1941. Its hemispherical incident light surface with rotating head became a standard tool in photography and cinematography.
The leather case contains the exposure meter, an article for a Spectral Universal Incident-Light Meter, three light masks, and two black masks.

The Build Your Own Camera Obscura instruction card was part of a kit for building a camera obscura. The front of the card provided instructions for assembling the camera, while the obverse of the card provided detailed instructions for film preparation, loading the film, taking photos, setting up a darkroom and film processing and printing.

Otto Perutz was a chemist working on photographic processes. He developed a method for the industrial production of Eosin-Silver-Plates which had been invented by Hermann Wilhelm Vogel and Johann Baptist Obernetter. In 1880, he founded Otto Perutz Trockenplattenfabrik, in Munich, Germany. Perutz was recognized as a manufacturer of first-class sheet, roll and miniature films and was one of the first to make and pack special films for the Leica.
A sticker reading, Foto-Bieling, Gottingen, Franz-Seldte-Str..6.Ruf2651, is affixed to the box lid.

In 1897, the Agfa trademark was introduced and became part of I. G. Farben, in 1925. Agfa produced film for cameras and radiology and also entered the camera market.

Description: Minox-developed 36 exposure slide film strips of Chichen Itza, Mexico
The Minox-developed slide film strips are images of the temple, architectural features and grounds of Chichen Itza. The slide film strip holder is in a Minox mailing envelope with the word 'color' handwritten on the address side of the envelope and Chichen - Yucatan, Mexico handwritten below the Special Instructions label on the Instructions for Ordering side of the envelope.
Included in the envelope is a hand-drawn story board for a travel book titled With Minox in Mayaland.

Sawyer's, Inc., began manufacturing the View-Master 3-D viewer and slide reels around 1939. The View-Master system was a ubiquitous visual aid, from the 1940's to 1970's. Reels of 14 slides, generating 7 stereoscopic images, were created covering travel, science, licensed images - such as Disney characters and theme parks, among many other subjects.
