Historical NoteReturn to Top
Chester Alfred “Chet” Church (1913-1980) was a pilot in the early days of aviation. He began his career in the Civil Service in the late 1930s and eventually became chief of air traffic control operations at Sky Harbor International Airport. Church received a distinguished career service award from the Federal Aviation Administration after his retirement in 1973.
