Historical Note

The University of Wyoming Jesters Club was an amateur theater troupe founded in 1926 by faculty members at the University of Wyoming. Created to promote amateur theatrics within the university and local community, the troupe focused on producing comedic plays throughout the academic year. Founding members included Ottis H. Rechard, Wilbur A. Hitchcock, and Clara McIntyre. Performances were typically by invitation and received coverage from local newspapers, highlighting the group's cultural presence in Laramie. The Jesters Club remained active for over two decades before disbanding in the late 1940s.
