Historical Note

Margaret L. Plumb was an Assistant Professor of Music Education at the University of Wyoming. Born in Laramie, Wyoming, she began her studies at the University of Wyoming in 1928 and earned her doctorate in education in 1965. Plumb served in the University School from 1965 to 1977, specializing in music education. A member of the UW Glee Club during her undergraduate years, she maintained a lifelong passion for folk music, particularly from the Wyoming region. Her dissertation, Folk Songs of Wyoming, reflected her dedication to preserving the state’s musical heritage.
