A colonial-era summons, purchased from the Philadelphia Rare Books & Manuscripts Company. Broadside dated 1739. Lyde Byfield, clerk of the court, issues a summons for Jacob Sheaf, a Boston brewer, to appear in court on a charge of trespass brought by John Jekyl of Cambridge.
