Content Description
The Albert Davies papers consists of a scrapbook contianing photographs of 1939 smokejumping experiments near Portland, Oregon and Winthrop, Washington. It also contains loose photographs and clippings about these experiments.
Biographical Note
Albert Davies was the Assistant Director of Fire Control for Region 6 of the United States Forest Service (USFS) when the USFS ran a series of smokejumping experiments from its base in Winthrop, Washington in 1939.
