Emma Pearl McDonnell and family papers, approximately 1867-1972

A very small diary written into a memoranda booklet from the Guardian Assurance Company. The diary contains a detailed visit to La Conner Washington to visit the Bristow family. Pearl went with her mother, Nancy Jane Thomas McDonnell, and her sister Elizabeth "Bess" McDonnell (later McDonald). Pearl describes some observations of Native people and also talks about the leisure activities she participated in, including walks, picnics, a camp meeting, and crabbing.

"Library School -- Notes taken on my trips to and from Madison and during stay at library school, Summer of 1901, Emma Pearl McDonnell, Seattle Wash." This diary mentions cousins that Pearl visited, including the Scanlons and Foleys of Minneapolis and the Thomases and Bebouts of Pennsylvania.
