These papers were collected by former Western Washington University Economics Professor J. Kaye Faulkner. Much of the collection relates to technocracy, a political/economic movement that arose in the 1930s based on the idea that the American government and economy should be managed according to principles derived from science and engineering. Content Description

The J. Kaye Faulkner papers include correspondence, articles, pamphlets, books, research materials, research bulletins, "Technate of America" maps and related publications collected by former Western Washington University Economics Professor J. Kaye Faulkner. Much of the collection relates to technocracy, a political/economic movement that arose in the 1930s based on the idea that the American government and economy should be managed according to principles derived from science and engineering. There are also records dealing with Faulkner's involvement with the American Federation of Teachers union and his interest in general education labor issues.
