Historical Note
The Morrison-Merrill Lumber Company, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a major regional supplier of wood products in the twentieth century. Under the direction of George Merrill, who served as the company's president from 1911 to 1947, Morrison-Merrill grew from a moderately sized operation in northern Utah to a three-state network of more than 100 subsidiary firms. The company offices at 205 N. 400 West in Salt Lake City were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
