Biographical Note
Carl J. Goebel (1929-2013) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho. He later obtained a Master of Science degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Utah State University. Dr. Goebel worked as a professor in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at WSU for 38 years. He was a Fulbright scholar, teaching in India, Australia, and New Zealand and worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Morocco and Lesotho.

This collection consists of papers, photographs, VHS tapes, and slides related to the research and teaching of Carl J. Goebel (1929-2013), professor in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University (WSU). It includes materials related to forest and rangeland management in the Pacific Northwest as well as USAID projects in Morocco and Lesotho.
