Biographical Note

Born January 7, 1919, N. Keith Roberts grew up on a farm in Sugar City, Idaho. He began his long career at Utah State University in 1957. He earned his BS (1948) and MS (1949) degrees from Iowa State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (1958). He worked in the area of agricultural economics, where he served as department head and director of the Economics Research Institute. Widely published, his major area of interest included public resource policy and management, particularly ranching and grzaing on public lands. Roberts also served extensively as a consultant and International agricultural advisor, completing extensive tours in Bolivia, Iran and Egypt. Roberts retired in 1985, but continued to be actively involved in researchas emeritus faculty. He passed away Octover 20, 2001.
