Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Christopher Tatsuno is a Japanese American skier and adaptive ski coach. Tatsuno was born in Ketchum, Idaho, in Sun Valley. His father, Rod Tatsuno, was a ski instructor who taught Christopher how to ski from a young age. Christopher Tatsuno attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied business and raced for the ski team. In 2006, Tatsuno won the Sickbird Award at Telluride. By 2010, Tatsuno retired from competitive skiing and began working with Pat Sewell in ski guiding and instructing and river guiding. Together, they started the Pat and Tats Show about ski culture. Beginning in 2012, Tatsuno began working as a coach for the Aspen Valley Ski Club for the United States Paralympic Development Program in Aspen, Colorado.
