Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Helen West MacQuarrie was born in Butte, Montana on December 15, 1908. She attended public schools in that city and, after high school, came to Bozeman and enrolled at Montana State College as a home economics major in 1929. While in school she led an active social life and was involved in several campus organizations. She left the college in 1931, but continued to live in Bozeman for the rest of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a past president of the Bozeman Business and Professional Women's Club, and several other civic groups. She died on August 9, 1997.

Included are a number of buttons, ribbons and other realia MacQuarrie collected as souvenirs of her years at the school.
