The brasses represented here are from England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The memorial monuments span a range of dates from the beginning of the 15th century to the middle of the 18th. Rubbings of these and other memorial monuments can provide information about the evolution of dress (including armor and religious vestments) and customs in both England and continental Europe.

      John and Margaret Launcelyn, 1435. This is a model of the reverse side of John and Maragaret Launcelyn. It can be seen that the two brasses have been made out of a much larger figure of a knight of about 1310. The sword hilt and belt can be plainly seen.
