Historical Note
Fred Chester Bond (1899-1977) was a mining and consulting engineer. He is best known for his contributions to crushing and grinding theories, called the Bond Theory of Comminution, that impacted methods of calculating how much energy was needed to crush rock. Bond also wrote numerous articles on metallurgy and became an expert in the field.
Content Description
Collection contains articles and pamphlets on ore grinding and milling by Bond; a book titled To Know What We Are; issues of a column titled On Line written by Bond for the periodical Rock Products; and a miscellaneous slide rule, mathematical table, and biographies of Bond.
