Content Description
The Robert N. and Peggy Broomfield Sears papers (1880s-1992) consist mainly of scrapbooks documenting the activities of this couple, including Robert Sears's career with Phillips Petroleum Company. The scrapbooks in the collection contain correspondence, pamphlets, brochures, photographs, drawings, new articles, writings, ephemera, and various other materials. Where possible, photographs were separated from the collection and transferred to the Multimedia Division. Photocopies were placed in their stead. All of the items in the scrapbooks have remained in their original order and retain the original titles given by Robert Sears. All drawings by Jack Sears were separated out and added to the Jack Sears papers (Accn 1245). Many of the scrapbooks also reflect Sears's long-time involvement in the Boy Scouts of America.
