Historical Note

Arthur C. Hall (1909-2005) earned his bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Stanford University in 1929. Hall worked and consulted for a number of mining companies throughout his career, most notably with the American Smelting and Refining Company. As an administrator with ASARCO Hall oversaw mining operations in Mexico (1930s-1950s) and Peru (1950s).

The Arthur C. Hall papers contain business records, legal papers, correspondence, photographs, blueprints, maps, and other mining related materials stemming from the mining career of Arthur C. Hall. The bulk of the materials are from Hall’s work in Mexico, Peru, and Arizona for ASARCO.
