Barry Holstun Lopez was born in 1945 in New York. He earned degrees from the University of Notre Dame, and attended the University of Oregon. His literary works (both fiction and non-ficton) focus on naturalism, and environmentalism. He resides in Oregon.

This collection contains materials relating to the design and artwork and publication of the children's book Crow and Weasel (North Point Press, 1990). Includes correspondence (1981-1983) from designer Joel Schick, illustrator Tom Pohrt, and agent Peter Schultz.
