Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The Veda T. Hale collection [photocopies] (1941) consists of two letters written by Fawn Brodie, noted biographer of Joseph Smith Jr. and university professor. The first letter was written while Brodie lived at Princeton College in New Jersey. It is addressed to Dean Brimhall, Director of Research for the Civil Aeronautics Administration for the federal government, and Fawn Brodies's maternal uncle. It provides requested historical information on the Mormon Church. The second letter, written from Hanover, New Hampshire, is addressed to Maurine Whipple. The letter is in response to Whipple's request for information on the personality and character traits of David O. McKay, Brodie's paternal uncle. This information was to be used in a novel Whipple was writing.
