Biographical Note
Gerson Goldman was born May 7, 1924 in New York City. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served in the South Pacific including the Battle of Guadalcanal. After World War II, he was stationed at Sand Point Naval Air Station and, after being discharged, married and settled in Seattle where he owned a number of businesses including the pawnshop Central Loan & Gun Exchange and Goldman's Jewelry. He founded the Jewish War Veterans organization in Seattle.

3 audiocassettes and 1 transcript of interview conducted on June 27, 2007 by Joseph Adatto. Goldman discusses growing up in the lower east side of Manhattan, his military service in the Navy during and after World War II, and his settling down in Seattle as a businessman. He also describes his involvement in Herzl Synagogue and the Jewish Community Center.
