Historical Note

The University of Wyoming, College of Agriculture was established in Laramie in 1891, with experiment farms located across several cities. The college saw its first graduates in the early 1900s and expanded significantly over the years, both in student enrollment and faculty members. By 1952, the college had a dedicated building and continued to grow, reaching 700 students and 120 faculty by 1982. It was renamed the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 2009 and further renamed the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources in 2022, reflecting its expanded focus. As of 2018, the college included various divisions such as Animal Science, Plant Sciences, and Veterinary Sciences, along with the Agricultural Experiment Station and University of Wyoming Extension under its administration.
