Historical Note

Jay C. Flippen (1899-1971) was an actor. He is best remembered as television’s “Ensign O’Toole.” Flippen had a successful career as a comedian in New York Vaudeville, Broadway shows, and radio. His credits include Flying Leathernecks, The While One, Far Country, Oklahoma!, Cat Ballou, Wolves in Front, and others.
