Content DescriptionReturn to Top
Tape recorded interview conducted by Larry Gossett on 2 Feb 1968; transcript.
Leola Cravens Woffort and Beulah Cravens Hart, sisters, discuss the arrival of blacks as strikebreakers in Roslyn and their youth in nearby Ronald. They also mention a Western Federation of Miners strike in the Roslyn area. Both sisters speak during the first part of the tape although Leola Woffort is the primary interviewee. About 3/4 of the way through side 1 Beulah Hart becomes the interviewee; however, toward the end of the tape the interviewer also questions Mrs. Woffort. The interview is on side 1 of tape 2 (side 2 is blank). The tape speeds up for the last minute of the interview.
