Typed in verso: The University Bookstore was in the old Chem Shack behind Denny Hall from 1910-1922.

Written on front mount: Naval training station during World War I then University Golf Club / Now Health Science Complex.

Some in the audience are wearing naval uniforms.

Major H.C.K. Muhlenberg, pioneer aviator Eddie Hubbard and passenger Claude Ramsey flew two planes to the Sand Point Naval Air Station from Camp Lewis in Pierce county as a part of a tree felling ceremony marking the development of the site as an airfield. Sand Point becamse a Naval Air Station in 1923, oneof only five in the nation at that time.
