Historical Note

The Central Washington University Friends of the Library (FOL) was established in 1961. The Friends of the Library is an organization that helps to ensure that the James E. Brooks Library remains a vital part of the university. The primary purpose of the Friends of the Library is to raise funds for library acquisitions. This includes books, journals, recordings, musical scores, films, maps, and electronic databases. The Friends of the Library holds multiple events each year, including a three-day book sale on the Ellensburg campus each fall. The organization’s newsletters and meeting minutes help keep readers informed of the Friends of the Library’s activities.
