Summary

Dora Marguerita Hauck, sometimes called Patsy or Pats, was born on April 6, 1905 to Lawrence and Dora Catherine Hauck in Philipsburg, Montana. Hauck attended the University of Montana in Missoula from 1922 to 1926, where she was an active member of the Delta Sigma Chi sorority. Hauck studied education at the university, and after graduating, she spent her career as a physical education teacher. Dora Hauck died November 25, 2002 in Vancouver, Washington.

The Dora Hauck Scrapbook contains clippings, photographs, correspondence, and memorabilia from her time as a student at the University of Montana (then called the State University of Montana) from 1922-1926. The majority of the content pertains to Greek life, specifically Delta Sigma Chi sorority, where Hauck was a member. Other content relates to sporting events, lectures, dances, theatre productions, and campus traditions. A list of clubs and societies reveals Hauck’s participation in the Penetralia Chapter of Mortar Board, Tanan, Art League, and the M Club, among others. There are also some photographs of Hauck’s family and home in Philipsburg, Montana.

Custodial History

David Lake acquired the scrapbook from an estate sale and donated it to the University of Montana, Mansfield Library Archives and Special Collections in 2013.

An oversized playbill poster of a 1924 Montana Masquers production at Liberty Theatre was flattened and foldered. Other loose items were placed into folders by content type.
