Historical Note

Dr. David Eugene Miller (1909-1978) was a historian specializing in the history of Utah, trans-Mississippi West, fur trade and major western trails, as well as general American history. Miller was a history professor at the University of Utah, the director of the Western History Center, and a historian for Nauvoo Restoration Inc. His is also the author of several works, such as Hole in the Rock: An Epic in the Colonization of the Great American West.
