Historical Note
During the 1980's to the early 2000's, the College of Humanities underwent significant growth with the establishment of the Obert C. and Gail A. Tanner Humanities Center, an Asian Studies Program, a Latin American Studies Program, and an Environmental Humanities Program. The College also undertook initiatives to further implement the use of computer technology in humanities scholarship for both faculty and students. This was also the period in which the Language and Communication Building and the Carolyn T. Irish Humanities Building were constructed as new campus locations for the College.
Content Description
This collection is divided into three separate series covering the administrations of Deans Norman Council (1981-1991), Patricia Hanna (1991-2001), and Robert Newman (2001-2015). The administrative records consist of correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, and reports from the Dean of the College as well as its constituent departments.
