Biographical Note

Henry F. Stowell was born on August 15, 1941 in Munich, Germany. Stowell served as Library Program Coordinator at the University of Washington during the period (approximately early 1990's-2004) in which he collected the majority of the postcards and ephemera that form this accession. The collection reflects his personal interest in the history of Washington State and Pacific Northwest railroads and was built up by visits to postcard shows, swap meets, second hand stores, and transactions on eBay (an internet e-commerce company).
