- Peter Taubenberger, M.D., was a German-born doctor who practiced in both Canada and the United States. Trained as an internist, he became an Aviation Medical Examiner prior to retiring to Portland. His papers were donated to OHSU in 2011.

Biographical Note
Peter Taubenberger (1925-2010) was German-born and took his degree at the University of Munich in 1953, specializing in Internal Medicine. His thesis was on experimental hematology. He emigrated to Canada and later to the United States. He had rural practices in Saskatchewan and Montana and more urban practices in Colorado and Oregon prior to retiring in Portland in the 1990s. He became involved in Aviation Medicine as a Flight Medical Examiner and worked giving physicals to pilots for the Federal Aviation Agency.

This collection contains material concerning his personal private practice; his work with the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) as an Aviation Medical Examiner; and class materials for CME courses taken at Harvard University.
