Historical Note
Clifford Percy Evans was born on 21 August 1889 in Salt Lake City to David and Ellen Midgley Evans. Following graduation from Columbia University in New York, he became an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright in Chicago. In 1917, Evans entered an architectural partnership in Salt Lake City with Miles Miller and Taylor Woolley. The partnership was dissolved in 1922. That same year Evans married Afton Robbins. His early work included small industrial structures, while his later work included many large buildings, including over 150 for the LDS Church. Clifford Evans died in 1973.
