Historical Note

The Utah Academic Library Consortium is the continuation of the Utah College Library Council. In October 1994 the name was changed and several Nevada libraries joined on. The current member libraries are: Brigham Young University, College of Eastern Utah, Community College of Southern Nevada, Dixie State College of Utah, Great Basin College, Nevada State College, Salt Lake Community College, Sierra Nevada College, Snow College, Southern Utah University, Truckee Meadows Community College, University of Nevada, University of Utah, Utah College of Applied Technology, Utah State Library, Utah State University, Utah Valley State College, Weber State University, Western Nevada Community College, and Westminster College. The UALC works to coordinate spending on both serials and monographs by both reducing unnecessary duplication and expanding interlibrary loans. Another aspect of the agreement allows students of any one of the participating libraries to register their library card with another UALC institution, free of charge.

Content Description

The Utah Academic Library Consortium records (1973-2009) consist of notes from various meetings and membership lists of the different libraries. Included is a CD which contains a catalog of the materials of all UALC libraries from 1993.
