Historical NoteReturn to Top
Seafair was a 10-day festival that was founded by Greater Seattle, Inc. in 1950 to promote the significance of boating and to celebrate the life of Seattle through its unique civic festivals. Not only did the Seafair help showcase the beauty of the Puget Sound and the talents of Seattleites, it also helped promote tourism and attract national attention to the Greater Seattle region. Today, the Seafair is a three day event with an expanded focus on various watersports and other entertainment showcases.
