Biographical Note
Herman Kleiner was born in Tacoma, Washington. After attending College of Puget Sound and serving in the Air Force during World War II, he went into business with his father, Morris, at Model Lumber Company in Tacoma. Model Lumber closed in 1986.
Content Description
2 audiocassettes and 1 transcript from oral history interview conducted on June 14, 2005 with Emily Shaffer. Kleiner discusses his family history, growing up in the Jewish community in Tacoma, and his work in resettling Soviet Jews in the 1990s.
