Content Description

The Jerome Richard Correspondence contains several letters written to Richard between 1968 and 2011 with most letters dating from the 1970s and early-1980s. The correspondence offers personal documentation of several artists, writers, and musicians that maintained longstanding friendships with Richard. Several letters are from noted authors and poets, including original poems by Jane Shore and Sandra M. Gilbert. A substantial portion of the correspondence is from American author, photojournalist, and poet, William Childress, detailing his family life, teaching career, and writing ventures. Others are from acquaintances and former colleagues, and include commentary on popular media, academia, and the state of art and politics during the 70s and 80s.
