The department of English Language and Literature first appears in WSU catalogs in 1893. It was later renamed as the English department in 1911.

Some refoldering for rehousing occurred - that material still needs checked. Brief electronic documents content list received with it. May want to co-process with UA99-37, UA07-12, UA13-10.
