Historical Note
William Manning Weilbacher (1928-2004) was an advertising executive and marketing consultant. He authored a number of books on marketing. In 1967 Weilbacher founded and became president of Master Jazz Recordings, Inc., a company that recorded the performances of jazz players like Earl Hines, Jimmy Rushing, Roy Eldridge, Billy Strayhorn, and others. Master Jazz Recordings, Inc. issued phonograph records of the performances.
