Summary
Patricia Packard was a Professor of Biology at Albertson College of Idaho. Through her work she traveled all over the Rocky Mountain Region including Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Nevada. She collected journals, newspapers, and books about the Oregon Trail and compiled an index of travelers with the help of historical societies and decendents of the families from the subject material.

Historical Note

Patricia Packard was a Professor of Biology at Albertson College of Idaho for 29 years, as well as the first holder of the Orma J. Smith-Lyle M. Stanford Chair in Biology. She traveled all over Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Nevada collecting thousands of specimens. Over many decades Packard collected materials relating to the Oregon Trail and its travelers including, diaries, journals and letters.

It includes an index of passengers as well as information on a variety of groups such as the Kennedy company, the McClung family, and the Campbell family.
