Historical Note

Arthur Walter Kramer (1890-1969) was a composer, critic, editor, and music publisher. Kramer's early music education came from his father and, later, Carl Hauser and Richard Arnold. He attended New York City College in 1910 and was on the staff of Musical America between 1929 and 1936. He entered music publishing in 1936 as director of Galazy Music Corp. Kramer composed orchestral works and wrote over fifty choral compositions.
