Historical Note
Sally Fitzpatrick was a graduate student in Education from 1948-1949 at the University of Puget Sound (then the College of Puget Sound) and was appointed the special supervisor of the recently established Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi.
Content Description
The Sally Fitzpatrick letters are primarily made up of letters Fitzpatrick wrote to her mother, R. M. Fitzpatrick, in Kansas. These letters describe her experiences as a graduate student in Education at the University of Puget Sound. The papers also include correspondence between Fitzpatrick and Pi Beta Phi's Grand President, Amy Burnham Onken, and Grand Secretary, Lucile Douglass Carson (Mrs. Floyd H.). Reports written to Mrs. Carson from Fitzpatrick on the Washington Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi are included, along with a petition pamphlet of information and letters of recommendation about the chapter. Also included are a telegram to her mother, a tuition check, and notes to Fitzpatrick.
